Caren Franzini leaving NJ Economic Development Authority
Caren Franzini, the long-time head of the state’s Economic Development Authority, announced on July 26th, 2012 she is resigning and will end her 18-year tenure as chief executive officer on Sept. 30.
Our Association will miss Franzini and we wish her all the best and look forward to hearing what she will be doing on October 1st. EDANJ President Frank Lucchesi says “Caren’s hands-on style, knowledge, and accessibility to EDANJ was always appreciated. We didn’t realize that our meeting and correspondence with her over the last two months on changes to brownfields funding was going to be our last official interaction with her in her current role.”
Her duties will be divided between two people: Michele Brown, now appointment counsel to the governor, will become the CEO. Tim Lizura will take on the roles of President and COO.
